Christopher Bacon

U.S. Air Force

Major Christopher A. Bacon is serving on an Intermediate Development Education Fellowship as a POLAD (Foreign Policy Advisor) Fellow to the Office of the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force.  His experience includes various deployments to support US interests abroad as an F-16 fighter pilot and multiple leadership roles throughout Air Force chains of command.

Maj. Bacon was commissioned in May 1996 as a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and received a regular commission as a second lieutenant.  He has served as a weather forecaster; F-16 pilot, instructor pilot, and evaluator pilot; wing chief of standardization and evaluation; division, squadron, and wing chief of weapons and tactics; and operational test and evaluation Division Commander and Assistant Squadron Operations Officer.  Maj. Bacon has accumulated over 2100 hours in T-37, (A)T-38, and F-16 aircraft, including over 320 combat hours supporting Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM as well as vast experience as an alert pilot and mission director is support of Operation NOBLE EAGLE.
