Vanessa Lide is Case Study and Publications Editor at the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy. She joined ISD in 2016 under the Carnegie Corporation of New York’s “Bridging the Gap” initiative to connect policymakers and practitioners with university research in the area of global affairs. Ms. Lide works on ISD diplomacy case studies and other ISD publications and also edits articles for the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage, a Carnegie-supported blog aimed at providing broader access to current political science research.
A former editor of The China Business Review, she worked for many years on bilateral trade and business issues for the US-China Business Council. As an editor specializing in international relations and business topics, Ms. Lide served as case study editor for Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, and edited toolkits and reports on renewable energy and off-grid electric programs for the U.S. Agency for International Development. She has also worked as a fact-checker and editor for projects for the World Bank, Discovery Education, and a number of museum exhibits related to history and human rights. Ms. Lide holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics and a B.A. from Cornell University.
