Title: Graduate Certificate in Diplomatic Studies Information Session – Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Applications for the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy’s graduate Certificate in Diplomatic Studies are due to ISD by February 1, 2024.
ISD Director, Ambassador Barbara Bodine, will host an information session via Zoom on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm.
The session will also be recorded and available on our website.
Students interested in applying, or just curious about the Graduate Certificate in Diplomatic Studies, are invited to join ISD Director Barbara Bodine on December 6 via Zoom to talk about the application – what are we looking for? What do you need to include? What is the process timeline? Or, to learn more about what the requirements are to successfully complete the certificate.
The Certificate requirements seek to integrate and complement GU graduate degree programs, provide students with the intellectual skills to assess the complexity of issues and actors beyond each student’s own functional or geographic area of concentration, to synthesize a wide range of data sources, to extrapolate from relevant case studies and precedents, and to devise innovative yet pragmatic policy implementation steps. The goal is a balance of functional and regional focuses, core and emerging issues, and statecraft skills and competencies tailored to the academic background and career goals of each student.
