Georgetown Leadership Seminar (GLS)

The Georgetown Leadership Seminar’s vision is to promote dialogue on global affairs among individuals who will shape the future of their organizations and countries. Over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries are part of an exclusive global alumni network that includes presidents and prime ministers, royalty, parliamentarians and cabinet officials, CEOs and heads of NGOs, high ranking military officers, journalists, and academics.

This interdisciplinary program focuses on global issues, the international economy, foreign policy challenges, and the Washington political and policy-making environment. Speakers include top-level Georgetown faculty, senior practitioners, and other world-class experts.

The objectives of the Georgetown Leadership Seminar are:

  • to promote among emerging world leaders a dialogue leading to cross-disciplinary cooperation in international affairs;
  • to broaden participants’ understanding of the major issues in the foreign policy-making process in the United States through direct contact with top-level American policy makers; and
  • to establish and cultivate an ongoing network crucial to strengthening international cooperation and areas of agreement among leaders in the global community.
