Lieutenant Colonel Mckinley Wood

Lieutenant Colonel Mckinley Wood most recently served as the Battalion Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 304th Regiment, with the responsibility of providing weapons, tactical employment of crew-served weapons, and physical confidence training to the United States Military Academy. The Battalion, located in New York, New Jersey, and Maine, consists of 223 soldiers of various military occupational specialties. His immediate prior assignments were Operations Officer, 2nd Brigade, 98th Division, 108th Training Command, and Detailed Inspector General for the 80th Training Command (TASS). Lieutenant Colonel Wood earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY, in June 2001 and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in Armor. He has served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Battalion Maintenance Officer during three Middle East deployments, two National Training Center rotations, a Joint Readiness Training Center rotation, National Training Center Brigade Observer Controller (augment), Armor Battalion Maintenance Officer (3rd ID), Brigade Liaison and Fire Support Officer (GAANG), Assistant G3 Current Operations, Commandant, Command Safety Officer, and Transportation Battalion Executive Officer. Lieutenant Colonel Wood has civilian work experience as a Design Engineer (Caterpillar), Assistant Chief and Chief Engineer of two Tier 4 Data Centers (Bank of America), Assistant University Engineer, and Associate Director of Engineering Services (University of Richmond). Lieutenant Colonel Wood holds primary and advanced degrees in Engineering and Project Management, respectively.
