Research topic: The Gravity of History on Asia: Navigating US Alliances to Secure the Free and Open Indo-Pacific

Elliot Silverberg is a Master of Arts candidate in the SFS Asian Studies Program. Previously at Georgetown, he received an NSEP Boren Fellowship, supported the editorial leadership of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, and was a research assistant to Dr. Michael Green, Director of Asian Studies. Elliot has nearly five years of experience in strategic advisory, government relations, journalism, the legal field, and think tanks across Tokyo and Washington. He has worked at the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, The Asia Group, the Asia Pacific Initiative, and Hogan Lovells LLP. In addition, his academic and professional interests include U.S.-Japan relations, East Asian security and trade policy, public diplomacy, change management, sustainable development, and emerging markets and technologies.
