Jeffrey Reneau

Jeff Reneau is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Mr. Reneau most recently served as the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights at U.S. Department of State in Washington, DC. He previously served in the Secretary’s Executive Secretariat, and in Tbilisi as acting Deputy Chief of Mission and Counselor for Public Affairs. Mr. Reneau also served as Counselor for Public Affairs at Embassy Helsinki and Director of the American Center Kolkata, India. Mr. Reneau spent four years at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, advancing U.S. objectives on Burma, Haiti, and North Korea in the UN Security Council and General Assembly. Other overseas postings include Belarus, Japan, and a detail as civilian observer to the Multinational Force and Observers in the Sinai Peninsula. Mr. Reneau received an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and graduate degree from Harvard University. He is fluent in Russian and has basic Japanese and German conversational skills.
