Major Mary Bordelon
Non-resident Air Force Fellow
Major Mary Lea Bordelon previously served as Lead Planner for the Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Strategic Execution Group. Her experience spans a wide variety of operational and higher headquarters functions and duties at national, theater, and unit levels. Previous assignments include Director of Staff, 86th Operations Group, and Assistant Director of Operations, 37th Airlift Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. As a senior pilot with over 1,800 hours (over 650 combat hours) in the C-130J, she has served in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa. Maj Bordelon has a broad background in mobility operations including airlift, airdrop, aeromedical evacuation, and distinguished visitor movements. Her twelve years of service have instilled a deep understanding of Joint global power projection and international logistics. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Portland as well as a Master’s Degree in International Relations from American Military University. She is a distinguished graduate of Reserve Officer Training Corps and Squadron Officer School.
