Porter Travel Grant

The Horace Porter Travel Grant was established by Colonel and Mrs. Henry McHarg and Mr. Horace P. Meade to honor the late Horace Porter, U.S. Ambassador to France (1897-1905).

Open to all BSFS juniors and first-year GSFS students, the Porter Endowment Fund provides a limited number of travel grants of $1,000.00 to support research on issues of international relations, foreign policy, strategy and/or diplomacy that is directly related to an SFS academic requirement, e.g. a capstone requirement, or would otherwise substantially benefit a student’s academic development. It does not cover travel or other costs associated with internships or similar activities. Travel must also be more than 100 miles from Washington, D.C.

Grantee will be responsible for providing receipts upon return. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
