Title: September 2020 Despatches (No. 2/2020)

Dear Friends of ISD,

The Institute for the Study of Diplomacy is pleased to introduce our Department of State and U.S. military associates and senior fellows for academic year 2020-21.

Ambassador Elizabeth Richard and Ambassador John Desrocher, who recently completed tours as U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon and Algeria respectively, have joined ISD as senior State fellows. Hammad Hammad, who comes from the Deputy Secretary of State’s office, and Heera Kamboj, who covered Central America and migration issues from Washington during her most recent assignment, will be this year’s Dean and Virginia Rusk fellows. They are joined by a new cohort of Army and Air Force fellows.

I invite you to meet each of them through the individual profiles below. Our fellows add immeasurably to the richness of ISD and serve as enthusiastic resources for SFS faculty and students on their wide variety of expertise and experience, both professional and as mentors and advisers. Please feel free to reach out to them directly via their individual GU emails or email diplomacy@georgetown.edu to set up appointments.

With best wishes,

Barbara K. Bodine
