Ambassador Andrew Young

Ambassador Andrew Young is a retired career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Career Minister. Most recently, he served as Director of International Study, Missions, and Outreach at the National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. and previously served as Deputy to the Commander for Civil-Military Engagement at United States Africa Command and as U.S. Ambassador to Burkina Faso and Chargé d’Affaires in Mali. Over more than three decades in public service, he held diplomatic and policy assignments at the Departments of State, Commerce, & United States Senate and overseas in Africa, Europe, and Asia.
