2026 ISD Graduation Celebrations
ISD Graduation Celebration On May 13, the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy hosted its 2026 Graduation Celebration at DACOR Bacon House, honoring the accomplishments of Certificate in Diplomatic Studies candidates, ISD Capstone participants, ISD undergraduate and graduate Research Fellows, and this year’s Edward “Teddy” Weintal Scholar. Family members, friends, faculty, and mentors gathered to celebrate the students’ academic achievements and contributions to the ISD community. The Institute for the Study of Diplomacy was proud to host the 2025 Edward “Teddy” Weintal Prize Winner for Distinguished Reporting on Foreign Policy and Diplomacy. This year’s event, titled “Middle Powers; Africa Battlegrounds,” honored Declan Walsh, The New York Times Chief Africa Correspondent, whose reporting on the Sudanese civil war earned him and the Times staff the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting, as well as the George Polk Award and the James Foley Medill Medal for Courage in Journalism.
